14U Cannons: 2014 Fall FPbl Champions
After 5-5 start to the season, the 14U cannons came on strong at the end winning 9 of their last 10 games, and put themselves in perfect position headed into the season ending playoffs. After a first round win, the Cannons had to play the number 1 seeded Sunrise Sharks in the semifinal game. The Sharks had seemed to have the Cannons number all season beating them twice in the regular season, but it was the Cannons who came on strong beating the Sharks 7-1 as they headed to the Championship game. The Cannons jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the Championship game, and never looked back. They would add another run in the top of the second inning and that is all they would need as they would go on to win it all by the score of 3-1. All told, the 14U team finished with a record of 17-7 and a perfect 3-0 record in the playoffs. We would like to thank the coaches, players, and parents for their hard work, and commitment to the process and the program. Enjoy some well deserved time off, and we look forward to bigger and better things in the spring. Go CANNONS!

All Cannons teams are on top of their game
The Cannons are having a very successful season with all the teams. After a very rough Fall season, the Cannons 12u are off to their best start with a 11-4-1 record. The team is playing to what coach Kunkel calls "their strength" in being an offensive power house. The Cannons have hit 15 home runs in 16 games and looking to add to that total in the coming weeks. The 14u has been a very sound team and has quietly complied a 7-3 record. They too have played to their strengths in having a very dominate pitching staff and a sound defense. As long as they continue to play like that the playoffs are looking promising. While the record may not show it, the 10U is having a great season. After being runner-up in the AA division last year they looked to continue their dominance in the AAA division, the only problem is that the league combined the AAA and the Major divisions moving the team up two divisions. They continue to play hard and the playoffs should prove to be a competitive one with all the good teams in this division.
Westminster Academy grab Another big district win
Under the lights on Friday night, Trinity Christian faced off against WA. With a win WA would go undefeated in district play. However, this would be no easy task against the hottest team in south Florida. Trinity came into this battle 18-3, having won 11 in a row, but that would not matter. After falling down 1-0 in the top of the first, Tommy Dorfman and the Lions would not allow another run the rest of the night. After 3 straight bunts in a row, WA would scratch a run across in the 5th inning to tie the game. With the game still tied in the bottom of the 7th things got started when Zach Warenius was hit by a pitched. Jeremy Viveros lined a double into the left center gap, putting runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Trinity played the odds by intentionally walking Corey Acton to load the bases and play for the double play. The gamble almost payed off as Sam Etter grounded to the SS, but the second baseman was unable to complete the double play, throwing the ball into the Lions dugout and allowing the winning run to cross the plate. The Lions are now 18-5 and are looking at a possible 20 win season for the first time in nearly 12 years. The Lions will get this chance by playing Boca Christian on Tuesday, Senior Night, and on Wednesday when they round out the regular season at Coral Springs Charter.
